Hunter Pence Announces Retirement After 14-Year Career

Veteran outfielder Hunter Pence announced his retirement Saturday, bringing an end to a 14-year MLB career.

"Nothing can really prepare you for this part of your career, when you have say, 'I am retiring from baseball,'" Pence said in a video on Twitter. "I've given it everything I possibly can, and the game has given back to me tenfold."

Chicago Cubs righty Alec Mills threw the league's second no-hitter of the season Sunday, shutting down the Milwaukee Brewers in a 12-0 victory.

Mills, 28, struck out five while walking three.

Asked in the postgame interview on the Marquee Sports Network how he felt, Mills responded: "I have no idea. It hasn't really hit me yet. I didn't really know how to celebrate. Just something that came together today."
